The band has been playing the music they helped write for a couple of years now. The original bassist also left on uncertain terms around 2007. His replacement guitarist left the band in 2011 for disputes over the rights to songs, and he ultimately sued the lead singer, winning $450k. Their original guitarist, responsible for the genius guitar work on their debut album and their album "Blue" was fired in 2000 for.shady reasons. That album, featuring a slew of astronomically fantastic and gigantically successful singles. The album featuring lead single Never Let You Go followed one of the most successful alternative rock albums of all time, 1997’s Third Eye Blind. For those of you who don't know, only two of four original members are left in Third Eye Blind, the rest are replacements, plus one extra keyboardist/guitarist. On November 23, 1999, Third Eye Blind released their second album, entitled Blue. Oddly, a "cover" band of ex-original members are doing the same exact thing this spring and summer.
